I commenced at Busselton SHS as Principal in July, 2021 and bring a genuine passion for student engagement, pathway planning and well-being programs which are readily transferrable into the Busselton community.
I have accumulated 20 years of experience in classroom teaching (and lucky enough to have been nominated twice for Teacher of the Year awards) and school leadership experiences in regional and metropolitan district, senior high and senior campus schools.
In line with the community and Department expectations, I strongly believe that “Busselton SHS should be a safe and inclusive place for our parents, students and staff. Our school should also be a place where we all work together in a meaningful partnership to provide the best preconditions for shared individual and school success”.
I firmly believe that we are all part of the one system, with the process of learning being a continuous process from kindy through to Year 12 and all students should leave with a pathway which sets them up for future success.
With two teenage children of my own, I am well aware of the challenges parents currently face as we navigate the schooling and teenage journey. As such, at the forefront of my decision making is always around what the information is telling us (evidence) and the associated actions required in best interests of the young people.
