Chelsea Smith has been recognised for her outstanding leadership contribution in the community with her
Cape Naturaliste Scout Group.
Chelsea has been awarded the Australian Scout Medallion which is considered to be the pinnacle of awards in Scouting.
It is wonderful to see our students contributing to the local community in such a positive manner. Well done Chelsea!
The 1st Cape Naturaliste Scout Group presented Chelsea Smith the Australian Scout Medallion, which is the highest recognition in Scouts.
Achieving this milestone represents years of work both locally and throughout the Southwest. Chelsea has worked very hard, representing Scouts in the community through undertaking of many activities such as volunteering with the aged, fund raising with the Red Shield appeal, Australia Day and ANZAC Day marches, Clean up Australia Days and participating in environmental projects such as tree planting days and stream restoration. This has been supported by educational presentations by many local environment groups.
Chelsea has participated in many hikes including her own which she planned, ran and succeeded in completing, covering more than 30km over two days. As part of her involvement with Scouts she has developed a healthy living lifestyle, a keen interest in outdoor activities and basic survival skills.
Chelsea represents Scouting at the highest level having consistently displayed values, leadership and qualities that make her a role model to other youth.
