Behaviour Guidelines

The following is a guide to acceptable behaviour and consequences of unacceptable behaviour.
 

Acceptable Behaviour

Lateness

  • All students must be punctual to class and ready to learn


     

Truancy

  • While at school students must attend all classes
  • If outside of class, student must carry a student pass


     

School Uniform

  • Wearing school uniform is mandatory at all government schools
  • Please refer to the Uniform Policy for acceptable and not acceptable items


     

Mobile Phone Use

  • Please refer to the Mobile Phone Policy
  • Students must:
    • Ensure mobile phone is not visible or switched on during class
    • Not use phone to harass or threaten other students at any time (sms, calls, email)
    • Not use phone to hamper staff in the course of their duties or film/photograph other students or staff

 

Consequence Guidelines

 

  • First Time - Warning.  Teacher calls parent
  • Second Time - Central detention recess
  • Repeated - Detention and parent interview
     

 

  • First Time - Central detention recess and call to parent
  • Second Time - Detention and parent interview
  • Repeated - In school suspension, parent interview, attendance plan, home visit and legal action
     

 

  • First Offence - Warning and reminder of the dress code
  • Second Offence - Recess detention and call to parent
  • Repeat Offence - Letter home and parent interview
  • Students may be required to change into appropriate clothing provided by the school
     

 

  • First Offence - Warning and reminder of mobile phone policy
  • Second Offence - Confiscation for a period
  • Third Offence - Student Services will keep the phone and issue the student with a letter explaining the school's policy.  This letter is to be taken home and signed by their parent(s)/carer(s).  Only after the signed letter is returned will the phone be returned - usually the next school day.
  • Repeat Offence - Student Services will keep the phone and issue the student with a letter explaining the school's policy and notifying the parent that they must attend the school in person to collect the phone.  It will not be returned to the student under any circumstance.
